1.  Once there was a king called Midas. He was very rich. Rich people are not ever satisfied. They want more and more. They more they have, they more they want. The king was not satisfied.----

For this, he prayed to God to get more gold. The God granted his prayer.  In that moment his little daughter came to him. The king touched her and she became a solid gold and could not move. The king was very sad to see that. He understood the fact. Then he prayed to God again to return his blessing. The God returned back it. So we came to know that excess of anything very bad.

2. Once in a village there lived a very greedy farmer. He had a goose, which gave a golden egg daily. By selling it began to grow richer and richer. But he was so greedy that he wanted become very rich ------------------------.

But he found no eggs and became frustrated and lamented for his too much greed.

3. Robert Bruce was a famous king. His kingdom was invaded by enemies. The king fought bravely but was defeated in the battle. He had to save his life. He fled away from his kingdom and took a shelter in a remote cave-----

Robert Bruce noticed this. He thought that it was a great lesson for him, he should not idle away his time. Rather he should try again and again to regain his kingdom. . Inspired by a spider the king decided to attack enemies. This time he made his soldiers strong and attacked them. Finally he could regain his kingdom.

He told them to break the bundle. They tried but could not break the bundle of the sticks. Then he told them to untie the bundle and gave a stick to sons and asked them to break it. Then all of them broke the stick easily. The farmer told them that if they would remain separate and quarreled with one another, the enemy would easily defeat them. But if they remained united like the bundle, they would be much stronger and the enemy could not do any harm to them. At this the three sons learnt a great lessons and began to live unitedly and happily.

He came out of water with an axe made of gold. The woodcutter was honest. He did not take the gold axe. The god of water went in to water and brought another axe made of silver. The woodcutter did accept the silver axe. He was again crying for his own axe. At this time the god of water brought his own axe and gifted him. The gold axe also for his honesty.

When the bear went away, another friend got down from the tree. He asked his friend what did the bear say in his ears. In reply, the friend said that the bear told him not to believe a friend who left a friend in danger. The second friend realized his wrong, and ashamed and finally begged pardon.

7. It was a very hot day. A crow felt very thirsty and wanted to drink water. It looked for water here and there but in vain. At this moment, it saw a jar. It flew to it and----------------------

But the water was almost at the bottom. It was too low for its beak to reach the bottom. With great difficulty, it succeeded to reach there. He dropped some pebbles in the jar one by one.. Its strength was not enough to remove it. Yet it did not lose heart. The crow strived heart and soul and finally it became successful. It sank its beak into the water of the jar, and drank water and satisfied its thirst.

A dove was sitting on a branch of the tree. He noticed the ant was about to drown. The dove felt pity for the ant. He wanted to save the ant. So he dropped a leaf of the ant. The ant got on the leaf and saved his life. Another day the ant was seeking food under that tree. Then he noticed that a hunter had aimed at the dove. The dove did not know it. The ant thought, “I must save the life of the dove.” So he bit on the right leg of the hunter. At this the hunter’s hands trembled and the bullet missed its aim. Then the dove flew away and saved his life.

The lion laughed hearing that. But the lion felt pity on it. He set free the mouse. Few days later the lion was caught in a net of a lion-hunter. It tried it best to be free but failed and roared. Hearing the sound of the lion, the mouse rushed to the spot. The mouse cut the net and set the lion free. Thus the mouse helped the lion and both of them escaped from the spot.

He left the place saying –“grapes are sour”

They quarreled for sometime about this. At last one of the cats suggested going to the monkey who had a scale. So they went to the monkey to divide the bread properly. The monkey broke the bread into two pieces. But one part became larger than the other. Then he broke a portion of bread from the larger piece and ate that instantly. Then the second piece of bread became larger them the first piece. The monkey again broke a small portion of it and ate that also. He continued this method and the bread pieces became smaller gradually.
The cats understood the monkeys trick and told the monkey to stop that. The monkey stopped and claimed the rest of the bread as his charge.

A rich neighbour of his was a banker who one day said to him. “How much a year do you earn?” The cobbler did not know what to say in reply to such a question. He lived from hand to mouth. Everyday he would sit under the banyan tree of the village market and could earn very little repairing and polishing people’s shoes. In the evening, he would return home buying necessaries he could manage to buy with his small income. And he was satisfied what he had and thus happy with that life. He never counted or even thought counting his yearly income. “I never thought that way”, He replied to his rich neighour. “I just can mange two meals a day for my family and I do not have any savings.” The banker felt pity for the cobbler. The next day he brought one thousand rupees for the cobbler. “Take these rupees and have a nice and happy life.” he said to the cobbler. The cobbler became very glad getting the money. He returned his home with a joyful mind. He told everything to his wife. She felt a deep respect in her heart for the kind neighbour. There came the night then. And what hpappned a afterwards was quite pathetic. The cobbler and his wife soon discovered that their thatched house not safe for keeping the huge amount of money. They also could not find any safe place or trustworthy person to keep the money. They were much worried thinking that their money could be stolen or snatched. That night they could not sleep a single moment. Thus their peace of mind disappeared. Finally they realized that money cannot bring happiness.
